In the realm of design agencies, competition thrives. In its early days, Spark embarked on a mission to forge bonds with software developers, aiming to expand its technical offerings and breathe life into its interactive designs. However, the journey to find skilled, dependable, and budget-friendly developers had its share of hurdles. Many contractors touted their versatility, yet lacked mastery in any particular skill. Communication was inconsistent, and the fundamental stumbling block was their inability to grasp and translate Spark's overarching design vision into tangible front-end code.
When the pandemic struck, Spark's partnership with S&F faced an actual trial. Vyaire Medical, a ventilator-making client, urgently needed a Covid-19 responsive website from scratch. In a remarkable show of teamwork, Spark and the S&F crew rallied to accomplish six months' worth of work in just under eight weeks. Despite obstacles, from a crucial engineer stranded in Thailand to a rival design company eyeing the project, both teams pushed forward, swiftly crafting a microsite complete with a podcast feature. This microsite became a vital resource, offering essential information during the crisis.
A super cool website with a podcast feature that gave important info during the tough times.
THE SECRET SAUCE
Fast forward a decade, and the partnership remains more vital than ever, with S&F now driving 85% of Spark's development work. The secret to their longevity? A unique blend of collaborative ingredients:
Joint Pipeline Planning
Spark and S&F team up to review potential projects, pooling their ideas and expertise. S&F's technical mastery shines as they contribute to writing RFPs, scoping, budgeting, and building solution architecture.
Design Dream Team
Spark's sales and S&F's UI/UX champs unite early in project planning. This powerful collaboration leads to designs that are efficient, successful, and easy on the budget.
Sharing Leads
When S&F gets a design gig, Spark gets first dibs on referrals. Similarly, when Spark has development requests, S&F takes the front seat. It's a give-and-take that keeps things balanced.
Open Feedback Culture
An aspiring deliberately developmental organization, S&F fosters a culture of solid communication and honest feedback. Our partnership with Spark thrives on constructive criticism and candid input, fueling growth.
